I believe I agree with all the points Vicky is making here, at least the points I can understand.

We (the people) need to quit worrying about having more growth and start worrying more about fixing the problems we are already facing within that are getting worse. We need to get back to being more self-sustaining. The Amish would outlast the rest of us if our greed and technology doesn’t destroy them too. We have seen “growth” in debts, growth infrastructure deterioration, growth of toxic food, growth of billionaire gods & monopolies (aka Jeff Bezos worth $112 billion), growth in loss of privacy (i.e. Facebook), growth in human destroying technology, growth in population (esp. dumb/inconsiderate people), growth in illegal alien gang members, and pretty much a long list of problems growing. We (the people) need to learn that just about everything good has a limit, and made worse by more “growth” after the limit has been reached.

Greed (for growth over the limits) is a disease just as addictive as drugs, tobacco, camera phones, and GMO chocolate cake! WE ARE ADDICTED: SOS (Stuck On Stupid) and SFB (S**t For Brains)!

To prove your point, just now, 4/17/18, 7:44 MT, our Champion tweeted …

“While Japan and South Korea would like us to go back into TPP, I don’t like the deal for the United States. Too many contingencies and no way to get out if it doesn’t work. Bilateral deals are far more efficient, profitable and better for OUR workers. Look how bad WTO is to U.S.”

Great article Vicky, historical roots of “Free Trade for Thee not me”.
