Yesterday Lou Dobbs did a story about a hedge fund attempting to buy CSX Railroad. Today he added more info to the story.
Hedge funds are private investment groups and the hedge fund market is unregulated so these funds don't have to register with the SEC.
The hedge fund that is attempting to take control of CSX is called 'The Children's Investment Fund Foundation'. The fund originated and is registered in the UK but there is a US version also. I found Children Investment Fund's in Massachusetts and Portland Oregon but I'm not sure they are related to the UK fund (only because I haven't found anything that specifically says they are related - but I suspect they are).
I was intrigued when I found out the name of the hedge fund so I did a little searching to see what I could find. I can tell that as this story unfolds, it's going to get very interesting.

The Children's
Investment Fund (TCI) is an activist London based hedge fund founded by Chris
Hohn in 2003. TCI derives its name from a foundation called The Children's
Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) run by Hohn's wife, Jamie Cooper-Hohn. A
portion of TCI's profits go to The Children's Investment Fund Foundation making
it one of Great Britain's largest charities.
TCI aims to bring a
long-term and owner-oriented investing philosophy to the public markets. The
firm only takes capital from investors that will commit for multi-year periods.
TCI uses a fundamental approach to identify attractive investments and seeks to
maintain a constructive, open dialogue with management teams and Boards of the
companies in which it invests. However, TCI will take active roles if it feels
the Board and management are not acting in the best interests of the
shareholders.
After management at the
publicly traded German stock exchange, the Deutsche Borse, ignored the
shareholders requests to vote on the proposed acquisition of the London Stock
Exchange (LSE) was ignored, TCI successfully fought for board and management
change. Deutsche Borse then increased in value by 400%.

Recall the relationship between Hillary Clinton and Frank Guistra and the Clinton Foundation began to be exposed ~ 2015. It was further exposed during the occupation of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge when it came out that Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State sold uranium to Russia via Frank Guistra and his mining company (and charity fraud?) .

A 2011 memo written by Clinton

Kazakhstan
Apparently the take down of an oil company corruption and bribery ring in Kazakstan left a corruption vacuum for Frank Guistra with the assistance of Bill Clinton and the Clinton Foundation to fill. According to the Free Beacon and Influence Watch articles above, days after Bill Clinton flew to Kazakstan with Frank Guistra (2005), Guistra’s mining company won contracts to participate in three state-owned uranium projects. A few months later, the Clinton Foundation received a $31.3 million dollar donation from Frank Guistra. What a deal.
