Around 2006, Idaho Eagle Forum – the Idaho Chapter of Eagle Forum was monitoring legislation and the activities of Idaho legislators. We discovered the National Animal Identification System was being pushed and our conclusions about it were the same as Congresswoman Harriet Hageman’s conclusions. We alerted the citizens of Idaho and Eagle Forum members around the United States. Jane Lesko (Eden) was the President of Idaho Eagle Forum at the time. Jane also contacted Congressman Butch Otter who was our Representative in House and Mike Crapo who was (and is) in the Senate. And we contacted members of the Idaho legislature about the NAIS system.
The information that we got was that small, independent ranchers were the primary target of the program. The large cattle producers would be able to buy one tag for their entire herd but small ranchers would be required to tag each animal individually. In economic terms, that meant the cost for the program was shifted to the small ranchers while the large ranchers were essentially being given a free ride.

As a programmer, that tells me that this press release was not written on an American computer by an American aide of Senator Crapo. I have theories on that and many other things because I was watching what was happening in Washington DC very closely but I can’t prove them to you so suffice to say, things were not right in DC at that time. I will say that I believe the coup d’etat on our government occurred in that timeframe. Take that as you will.
