Republic of China vs People’s Republic of China
At the end of World War II when Japan surrendered, the Communist Revolution in China began. The government of China retreated to Taiwan establishing the Republic of China while the revolutionary forces of China took power with the name of the government being the People’s Republic of China. The United Nations recognized the Republic of China (on Taiwan) as the legitimate government of China. In 1971, that decision was reversed. The Republic of China on Taiwan was disenfranchised. The People’s Republic of China was recognized by the UN as the legitimate government of China. Restoration of the lawful rights of the People’s Republic of China in the United Nations. A/RES/2758(XXVI).
United Nations: The Communist International
In 1945, at the San Francisco Conference to finalize the treaty establishing the United Nations, Nelson Rockefeller promoted the idea of recognition of regional organizations. Empire would be the common word for a regional organization. The North American Union is an example of empire for the Americas – which obviously includes subversion of the United States as a nation-state. Condominium would be the word for a regional governing structure within the diplomatic community but it amounts to the same thing as empire – Privatization of Power.
Decolonization: The UN’s War on the West
On December 14, 1960, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted Resolution A/RES/15/1514. The resolution was a Declaration on Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples. This resolution was proposed by Nikita Khrushchev, leader of the communist party and the Soviet Union.

In 1964, the United Nations established the International Trade Center in Geneva, Switzerland. This has to be the driving force behind U.S. trade policy that has gutted the American economy. It is a welfare program for countries – building their economies by extracting wealth from ours.
ITC is the joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, fully dedicated to supporting small businesses of developing countries to trade. Originally created by the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) in 1964, ITC has operated since 1968 under the joint aegis of GATT/WTO and the United Nations, the latter acting through the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). ITC is the focal point in the United Nations system for technical cooperation with developing countries and economies in transition, on trade promotion and export development.

The Generalized Agreement on Trade and Tariffs (GATT) was negotiated to establish specialized agencies for the United Nations – labor, finance and trade. The establishment of an international trade organization was negotiated but the 1948 U.S. Senate refused to ratify it because it would have caused the loss of sovereignty over the economy and our country. From the Nixon Foundation website:
Memorialized by the president as The Week that Changed the World, the trip culminated in the announcement of the Joint US-China Communiqué in Shanghai.
Both sides agreed to articulate their substantial differences, make progress towards normalized relations, and refrain from seeking hegemony in the Asia Pacific region.
The most significant development came from the United States on the issue of its democratically Taiwan, affirming that “there is but one China and Taiwan is part of China,” and that a peace be settled by Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait.

18th Century Vision in the 20th Century
On October 3, 1973, Representative Al Ullman of Oregon introduced H.R. 10710, the Trade Act of 1974. This legislation was an invitation for foreign companies and countries to gut the U.S. economy. Notice that it didn’t include any mention of reciprocity.
H.R. 10710 – An Act to promote the development of an open, nondiscriminatory, and fair world economic system, to stimulate fair and free competition between the United States and foreign nations, to foster and economic growth of, and full employment in, the United States, and for other purposes.

On August 9, 1974, Richard Nixon resigned from the presidency when it became clear that he was going to be impeached and removed from office due to the Watergate burglary of the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters. Vice President Gerald Ford became the President upon Nixon’s resignation.
The Trade Act of 1974 became Public Law 93-618 on January 3, 1975 when it was signed by President Gerald Ford.
They used the authority provided in the Trade Act of 1974 to gut our economy like a fish – building the economies of so-called developing countries around the world with those countries given the right to import to our economy putting domestic producers out of business by undercutting prices.

It turns out that the deal with China concerning Taiwan was one country, two systems. They just didn’t call it that at the time. In 1984, the deal the United Kingdom made with China concerning Hong Kong was, One Country, Two Systems allowing Hong Kong to be an economically independent autonomous zone but under the authority of the Communist Chinese empire beginning in 1997.

Shanghai Communique 25th Anniversary
Several members of the Nixon administration and the Chinese ambassador to the U.S. discussed U.S.-China relations over the past 25 years and the future of these relations in the wake of the death of Deng Xiaoping.
